Job summary

Gulf Island in Kentucky is seeking a Tank Welder to fabricate and assemble enclosure components, including generator enclosure fuel tanks and related assemblies. You will weld sheet metal, read blueprints, and measure with a tape measure to ensure leak-free, high-quality welds for diesel containment.

Candidates should have 1+ year welding experience, the ability to pass 3G/4G weld tests and pressure tests, and the skill to read drawings.

Qualifications

• 1+ years welding experience.
• Able to pass 3G/4G weld test.
• Able to pass a pressure test.
• Able to read blueprints.
• Able to read a tape measure.
• Work in varying environmental conditions with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Weld sheet metal components for fuel tank fabrication with attention to weld quality and leak prevention.
• Read and interpret measurements using a tape measure and blueprints.
• Prepare materials by marking, cutting, grinding, beveling and fitting components.
• Follow blueprints and work instructions to complete welding projects per specifications.
• Lift and maneuver metal components and maintain safe work practices.
• Perform pressure tests and visual weld inspections; report defects.
