Gulf Island is seeking a Tank Welder to support the fabrication and assembly of enclosure components for generator fuel tanks and related assemblies. You will weld sheet metal, read blueprints, measure precisely, and fit parts to tight tolerances in outdoor environments.
The role requires 1+ years of welding experience, the ability to pass 3G/4G and pressure tests, and compliance with PPE requirements. Night shifts and safety-focused teamwork are part of daily operations.
The Tank Welder supports the fabrication and assembly of enclosure components, specifically generator enclosure fuel tanks and assemblies that support large-scale generators.
80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet and dry conditions, dust, mud etc. They will also be exposed to paint thinner and paint fumes.
