Job summary

Depot Connect International (DCI) is hiring a DOT certified Trailer Mechanic for our Port Allen, LA location. Bring 2–4+ years of tank/trailer repair experience to this role, with skin repairs and suspension work welcomed.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of tank/trailer repair experience
• DOT certified Trailer Mechanic
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds with assistance

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and repair mechanical, electrical or other systems on tank trailers
• Perform tank service and repair, including skin repairs
• Install and repair trailer suspension components
• Repair air brake systems and related components
• Weld (TIG) aluminum, stainless or carbon when required
• Inspect tanks and trailers for DOT HM183 compliance

We are currently searching for DOT certified Trailer Mechanic with 2-4+ years of tank and/or trailer repair and skin repair experience for our Port Allen, LA location!

Shift Hours: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay Range: $24.00 to $38.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

(Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.)

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Experience doing skin repairs
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (optional)
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
