Job summary

Depot Connect International (DCI) in Port Allen, LA is seeking a DOT-certified Trailer Mechanic with 2-4+ years of tank and/or trailer repair experience. The role involves diagnosing failures, servicing tank trailers, repairing suspensions, and skin repairs to meet DOT HM183 and hazmat standards.

Shift hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. Pay ranges from $24.00 to $38.00 per hour, with skill-based reviews and potential increases every six months.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical systems on tank trailers.
• Tank service and repair on trailers.
• Suspension installation and repair for trailers.
• Skin repair experience.
• Air brake systems knowledge and repair.
• Welding skills (TIG) optional.
• Inspect tanks/trailers for DOT HM183/hazmat compliance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and repair mechanical/electrical systems on tank trailers.
• Service and repair tank trailers and suspensions.
• Perform tank and trailer skin repairs as needed.
• Work with air brake systems and related components.
• Weld aluminum/stainless/carbon using TIG if applicable.
• Ensure DOT HM183/hazmat compliance during inspections.

We are currently searching for DOT certified Trailer Mechanic with 2-4+ years of tank and/or trailer repair and skin repair experience for our Port Allen, LA location!

Shift Hours: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay Range: $24.00 to $38.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

(Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.)

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience doing skin repairs
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (optional)
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
