Job summary

Dover Corp in Richmond, VA is seeking a Machine Operator I for the Tank & Canopy area on the 3rd shift (11pm–7am). You will fabricate parts using a range of tools and machines, following engineering documents and production standards.

You will perform setup, layout, and inspection, report issues, and participate in cross-training. The role requires basic math, tape measure reading, and ability to stand for long periods in a production environment.

Qualifications

• 1 - 3 years of production fabrication or comparable experience.
• 1 to 2 years of fabrication/machining preferred.
• Basic reading/writing skills and basic PC skills.
• Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate assemblies/parts for products per engineering documents and standards.
• Set up and lay out work using fixtures to fabricate parts and assemblies.
• Arrange parts for fabrication and staging processes.
• Review finished assemblies and parts against drawings and BOMs.
• Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.
• Reject defective parts according to policy.
• Ensure safe, careful use and maintenance of tools/equipment.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and cross training.
