Job summary

Canal Barge Company is seeking a Tank Barge Maintenance Operations Manager to provide daily leadership for all tank barge maintenance, serving as the department's technical subject-matter expert and leading field personnel to meet safety, regulatory, and commercial expectations.

This role establishes standards, coordinates planning across locations, and supervises superintendents and project managers to deliver outages, repairs, and improvements with sound technical decisions and proactive risk

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
7+ years in marine maintenance, tank barge operations, vessel repair, or related discipline.
5+ years in leadership with responsibility for field teams and maintenance execution.
Expertise in tank barge maintenance, repair planning and condition assessment.
Working knowledge of tank barge regulatory, inspection and maintenance requirements.
Ability to balance commercial/operational needs, schedule, cost and resource constraints.

Responsibilities

Own Tank Barge Superintendent teams for routine maintenance and compliance.
Lead Barge Project Managers for major outages and project delivery.
Set operating rhythms, priorities, escalation paths, and performance expectations.
Coordinate maintenance planning across locations balancing commercial needs and resources.
Provide technical guidance on maintenance standards, condition assessments and repair methods.
Develop regional leaders and competency through training and succession planning.
