Job summary

GP Solution seeks an Experienced Technical Manager to lead a fleet of Articulated Tug Barges, combining technical leadership, people management and direct vessel responsibility across operations and maintenance.

You will oversee Technical and Assistant Technical Superintendents, manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets, drive maintenance standards, plan drydock work, monitor vessel condition, and coordinate with contractors and suppliers while ensuring compliance with class, regulatory and company

Experienced Technical Manager sought to join an established vessel owner managing a fleet of Articulated Tug Barges (ATBs). This senior fleet role combines technical leadership, people management and direct vessel responsibility. The role involves leading Technical and Assistant Technical Superintendents, maintaining technical oversight of the fleet, managing OPEX and CAPEX budgets, driving maintenance and engineering standards, overseeing drydock planning and shipyard projects, monitoring vessel condition and planned maintenance, managing contractors and technical suppliers, and ensuring compliance with class, regulatory and company requirements. Regular vessel visits and shipyard attendance are required.

Requirements include senior experience in marine engineering, vessel technical management or fleet operations; experience leading technical personnel or Superintendents; strong knowledge of vessel maintenance, repairs and dry dockings; experience managing vessel budgets and major technical projects; a Bachelor's degree in Engineering; and strong leadership, commercial and communication skills. US Citizenship or a US Green Card is required. Experience with ATBs, tugs, barges, tankers or Jones Act vessel operations is desirable.
