Job summary

IndAroma in the Alexandria, VA area is hiring an Experienced Tandoor Chef / Line Chef to join our Indian catering and restaurant team. Based in Northern Virginia, this full-time role focuses on traditional tandoor cooking, naan and kebabs, with weekend availability.

You will prep marinades, assist line service, and work with a collaborative kitchen crew to deliver bold flavors and high-quality dishes for events and daily service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on tandoor cooking experience.
• Strong knowledge of Indian spices, marinades, and tandoor techniques.
• Strong cooking fundamentals and experience on a busy line.
• Culinary degree from IHM or equivalent preferred.
• Weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Cook naan, kebabs, tikkas, and more in a traditional tandoor.
• Prepare marinades and maintain flavor consistency.
• Support general line cooking and prep work as needed.
• Act as expo during service—organize tickets and communicate with kitchen/servers.
• Assist with weekend events and catering gigs.
