Job summary

Ida Claire is seeking a friendly, knowledgeable bartender to deliver hospitality-driven service in a fast-paced setting. You will greet guests, craft cocktails, manage bar stock, and ensure accuracy in cash handling while upholding standards.

You will maintain cleanliness, knowledge of menus, and collaborate with the restaurant team to create memorable guest experiences, participate in ongoing training, and follow safety and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Previous bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
• Stand for extended periods and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Must maintain current Food Handler and TABC certifications.
• Follow sanitation procedures and regulations governing alcohol service.
• Demonstrate passion for hospitality and teamwork.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with composure and detail.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly, professional, and genuine manner.
• Arrive on time and ready to work for all scheduled shifts; maintain proper uniform and appearance.
• Set up and break down the bar according to established procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked bar throughout each shift.
• Prepare cocktails, beverages, garnishes, mixers, syrups, and other bar items according to Ida Claire recipes.
• Maintain knowledge of the food, beverage, liquor, beer, and wine menus and continually develop product knowledge.
• Assist guests with menu questions, recommendations, dietary concerns, and other requests.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently according to company standards.
• Support the restaurant team by delivering, placing, and removing food and beverages from tables when needed.
• Pre-bus and manicure tables throughout the restaurant, not just in your assigned area.
• Communicate questions, guest concerns, and equipment issues to management promptly.
• Work collaboratively to create a positive team environment.
• Complete opening and closing responsibilities, including cleaning and sanitizing the bar and workstations.
• Restock the bar and service areas for the next shift.
• Follow sanitation procedures and regulations for alcohol sale and service.
• Participate in continuing education and training opportunities.
• Maintain beverage inventory at proper temperatures and restock glassware and equipment.
• Assist with washing, polishing, organizing, and restocking glassware.
• Maintain records of spills, comps, and other required bar documentation.
• Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to a supervisor.
• Maintain knowledge of Ida Claire's menus and proper cocktail preparation.
