Job summary

Ida Claire is seeking a bartender to deliver friendly, knowledgeable service while maintaining our quality standards. You will welcome guests, prepare cocktails, stock the bar, and ensure accurate cash and card handling in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Previous bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant environment preferred.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Must safely use knives and other equipment needed for tasks.
• Must maintain Food Handler and TABC certifications.
• Follow sanitation procedures and regulations for alcohol service.
• Demonstrate passion for hospitality and teamwork.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with focus and detail.

• Handle cash and card transactions accurately per standards.
• Support the restaurant team by delivering and removing items as needed.
• Pre-bus and manicure tables throughout the restaurant.
• Communicate needs and issues to management promptly.
• Work with team to create a positive, enthusiastic environment.
• Complete opening and closing responsibilities including sanitation.
• Restock bar and service areas for the next shift.
• Follow sanitation procedures and alcohol regulations.
• Participate in ongoing education and training opportunities.
• Maintain inventory and restock glassware and bar supplies.
• Report damaged equipment to a supervisor.

Bartenders provide friendly, personable, knowledgeable, and hospitable service to every guest while maintaining Ida Claire's standards for quality, timing, cleanliness, and hospitality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welcome and interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly, professional, and genuine manner.
• Arrive on time and ready to work for all scheduled shifts. Maintain proper uniform and appearance standards while in work areas.
• Set up and break down the bar according to established procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked bar throughout each shift.
• Prepare cocktails, beverages, garnishes, mixers, syrups, and other bar items according to Ida Claire recipes and standards.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the food, beverage, liquor, beer, and wine menus and continually develop product knowledge.
• Assist guests with menu questions, recommendations, dietary concerns, and other requests.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently according to company standards.
• Support the entire restaurant team by properly delivering, placing, and removing food and beverages from tables when needed.
• Pre-bus and manicure tables throughout the restaurant, not just within your assigned area.
• Communicate questions, guest concerns, equipment issues, and other operational needs to the management team in a timely manner.
• Work collaboratively with coworkers and management to create a positive, enthusiastic, and supportive team environment.
• Complete all opening and closing responsibilities, including cleaning and sanitizing the bar and workstations.
• Set up and restock the bar and service areas to ensure the next shift is prepared for success.
• Follow proper sanitation procedures and all applicable regulations regarding the sale and service of alcohol.
• Participate in continuing education and training opportunities.
• Maintain beverage inventory at proper serving temperatures and restock the service bar with liquor, beer, wine, soft drinks, mixers, fruit, glassware, and necessary equipment.
• Assist with washing, polishing, organizing, and restocking glassware for both the bar and restaurant.
• Maintain accurate records of spills, PR comps, and other required bar documentation.
• Clean and properly maintain all equipment and utensils necessary to perform the job.
• Immediately report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to a supervisor.
• Maintain complete knowledge of Ida Claire's food and beverage menus, including the proper preparation and presentation of all cocktails and beverages according to established recipes and specifications.
