Job description

Our client in the influencer agency space is looking for a director of talent to join their team!

Title: Director of Talent

Location: Austin, TX or New York City

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Model: Hybrid — 3 days/week

Experience: 5+ years in talent management, creator economy, or high-level commercial partnerships

Preferred Background: Talent-management agencies, entertainment agencies, or creator-commerce platforms

We are seeking a strategic, commercially minded Director of Talent to lead talent-management strategy and drive meaningful partnership growth across a high-priority roster of social-first creators.

This senior role is ideal for someone with direct talent-management experience—particularly from boutique talent management firms, major entertainment agencies, modeling and talent agencies, or creator-economy platforms. Experience representing creators, developing their long-term business strategy, and securing high-value commercial partnerships is essential.

While brand-side or traditional agency experience may be considered for more junior roles, this Director-level position requires a strong foundation in talent representation, relationship management, and dealmaking.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead talent-management strategy for a priority roster, serving as a senior advisor on career positioning, social strategy, partnership development, and long-term growth.
  • Source, pitch, negotiate, close, and retain high-value talent and brand partnerships that support revenue and roster-growth goals.
  • Create individualized business plans and brand-extension strategies based on each creator’s audience, strengths, commercial potential, and long-term objectives.
  • Build and deepen executive-level relationships with brands, agencies, platforms, and industry partners to create new business opportunities.
  • Oversee complex negotiations and contract execution, ensuring partnerships are strategically sound, commercially successful, and seamlessly delivered.
  • Partner with Brand Partnerships leadership to align talent recommendations, campaign strategy, messaging, and execution with client objectives.
  • Identify emerging platform trends, cultural shifts, and monetization opportunities, translating them into actionable strategies for talent and the business.
  • Help refine talent-management processes, share market intelligence, and mentor junior team members as the organization grows.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in talent management, creator/influencer marketing, entertainment, or commercial partnerships.
  • Direct experience representing talent, managing creator relationships, and building revenue-generating partnerships.
  • A background with a talent-management agency, entertainment agency, creator-commerce platform, or similar creator-led business is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating sophisticated brand, talent, and commercial agreements.
  • Deep knowledge of the creator economy, social platforms, brand marketing, and the evolving influencer landscape.
  • A strategic, entrepreneurial approach with the ability to prioritize opportunities and solve complex problems independently.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and project-management skills.
  • Experience mentoring, guiding, or informally leading colleagues is strongly preferred.
