Job summary

CPS Energy is seeking a Manager of Employee Development in San Antonio, TX. This role provides managerial leadership to develop and implement training strategies, plans and processes to enhance employee skills and organizational performance.

You will lead training initiatives, manage a team, and collaborate with various business units and external institutes to deliver comprehensive leadership development programs aligned with CPS Energy's goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in training, instructional design, curriculum development, facilitation, evaluation of training effectiveness, and performance.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and scheduling.
• Black Six Sigma, Lean or process improvement strategies.
• Learning System/Technology experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop training calendars, programs and schedules to meet leadership development needs with flexible delivery options.
• Oversee and manage design, coordination, facilitation, delivery, assessment and documentation of training solutions.
• Lead a team (3–15) to develop, coordinate, facilitate, deliver, assess and document training for technical areas.
• Prepare, monitor and manage departmental training budget and headcount.
• Develop and implement strategic training programs aligned with 1–2 year business goals.
• Partner with other units to provide growth opportunities for employees.
• Collaborate with recruiting and employee experience on NEO for facilitation and reporting.
• Build relationships with external training institutes for program development across levels.
• Coordinate leadership development curricula aligned to business strategy and objectives.
• Serve as SME in leadership development, learning systems, and instructional design standards.
• Lead multiple projects using Change Management, Process Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, and HPI methodologies.
• Apply needs assessment, instructional design and evaluation processes to ensure training effectiveness.
