Job summary

CPS Energy is seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to oversee plant engineering and instrumentation/controls for power generation facilities in San Antonio, TX. The role emphasizes planning, directing, and coordinating projects to optimize equipment, processes and performance.

Ideal candidates will have a PE license and extensive experience in power generation operations, maintenance, and project development. strong skills in dashboards, root cause analysis and SAP/SCADA systems are valued.

Qualifications

PE license required.
Extensive experience in power generation operations, maintenance and engineering.
Experience in power generation projects development and implementation.
Experience with dashboards and analysis tools.
Root cause analysis training and implementation in power generation events.
Knowledge of CPS Energy accounting methods, Capital and O&M.
Proficient with plant DCS controls and other control systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical and financial documents.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
Ability to delegate assignments effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Manages plant engineering and instrumentation/controls teams.
Develops equipment specifications and manages project tasks including outages.
Provides engineering support for operations and maintenance with technical solutions.
Leads performance evaluation and optimization efforts.
Coordinates with Power Generation Central Services for operational improvements.
Oversees maintenance troubleshooting and remedy of repetitive failures.
