General Information:

JMU Talent Development (TD) is seeking an undergraduate or graduate intern to assist the department with special projects and events related to the training and development of AP Faculty, classified staff, and wage employees at JMU.
This is a part-time wage position working an average of 15 hours per week over the school year (32 weeks) with no benefits. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation. Students with strong organizational and business analysis skills are encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Projects may include, but are not limited to, assisting with:

  • the planning of Talent Development events (Mid-level Management Institute, Mid-level Management Conference, etc.)
  • the evaluation of programs.
  • the development and possible delivery of content.

Providing support for the team, as needed, by:

  • staging and resetting training rooms.
  • preparing handouts.
  • assisting with marketing efforts.
  • reviewing training evaluations and offering recommendations.
Qualifications:

The successful student applicant will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Be enrolled as a student at JMU for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 semesters
  • Experience with research and synthesis of information
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized

This is a paid internship, with the expectation of 15 hours per week.

  • Regularly scheduled hours (chosen by intern)
  • Between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday

Conditions of Employment:

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
