Job summary

Portland Public Schools is seeking a Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team. This role supports frontline and central office hiring, building diverse candidate pipelines and coordinating high-volume searches.

Under supervision, you will partner with hiring managers, design recruitment strategies, and manage interviews, offers, and onboarding in a fast-paced environment. Equity and inclusion are core to the district’s hiring practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, public administration, business, psychology, sociology, law, or related field.
• Minimum of two years of full life-cycle recruitment in a high-volume environment or one year as Talent Acquisition Associate I.
• Experience in a K-12 public school district or public agency is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR recruitment expertise to district staff, managers, and applicants. E
• Consult with hiring managers to fill vacancies with diverse candidate pools. E
• Coordinate interviews, eligibility checks, offers, and onboarding activities. E
• Develop recruitment strategies and job advertisements to attract front-line talent. E
• Represent PPS at job fairs and community events to promote district opportunities. E
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure timely delivery of recruitment services.
