Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including engineering hires.
• Experience recruiting for nuclear industry disciplines (I&C, electrical, mechanical, civil/structural).
• Ability to evaluate candidates against NRC regulations and nuclear plant operations.
• Experience with project-based hiring and site mobilization.
• Strong sourcing of passive candidates via multiple channels.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder partnership.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ATS systems.

Job description

Charlotte, NC onsite contract role offering $28.00–$32.00 per hour for 6 months. This Senior Talent Acquisition Recruiter I position supports nuclear power engineering and related disciplines, combining full-cycle recruiting with daily employment office leadership and a strong customer service focus for both internal and external partners.

What you’ll do

You will lead day-to-day employment recruiting operations, from sourcing and screening through coordination, offers, and operational steps of the hire process. Responsibilities include managing requisitions and coordinating interviews to match project-specific needs and site requirements, while maintaining clear, responsive communication across stakeholders.

• Source, screen, and conduct preliminary interviews with potential candidates.
• Coordinate site interviews with the appropriate hiring manager to select qualified candidates for project-specific requirements.
• Make contingent employment offers in accordance with federal and state law.
• Manage assigned employment requisitions, including reviewing, editing, and completing final approvals for requisition submissions.
• Track and report staffing plan process data using computer software tools such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other databases.
• Assist with building and managing Employment Staffing Plans by entering employment and hiring requirement information.
• Build and update job descriptions based on project and scope of work.
• Coordinate and conduct re-deployment initiatives through proactive communication with employees prior to anticipated end dates.
• Complete operational and administrative hiring steps including background checks, drug screening, health screening, I-9 compliance, E-Verify compliance, employment paperwork, and site‑specific requirements.
• Serve as the point of contact for a portion of the employment process for internal partners at the job site, leading processing and/or recruiting efforts as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring

• 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including recent hiring of engineering professionals in the nuclear power industry.
• Direct recruiting experience for disciplines such as I&C, electrical, mechanical, and civil/structural engineering, with focus areas including plant modifications, design engineering, and system upgrades.
• Proven ability to evaluate candidates against nuclear‑specific requirements, including experience supporting design packages, field walkdowns, system ownership, and familiarity with NRC regulations and nuclear plant operations.
• Experience recruiting for digital controls, legacy system upgrades, and instrumentation/control systems strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting project‑based hiring where schedules, mobilization dates, site needs, and technical depth are critical.
• Proven ability to work independently as the sole engineering recruiter supporting business leaders and hiring managers.
• Strong sourcing skills with demonstrated success engaging passive candidates through multiple channels.
• High sense of urgency with strong follow‑up, responsiveness, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder partnership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn ATS systems quickly.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
