Job description

About Helion

We are a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity. Our vision is a world with clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone.

Since Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised over $1 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group and new investors SoftBank and Lightspeed to propel us forward. Our last prototype, Trenta, completed 10,000 high-power pulses and reached plasma temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius (9 keV). Now, we're turning up operations for Polaris, working towards delivering the world's first fusion power plant.

More than ever, it's a pivotal time to join us and have the opportunity to solve real challenges to create a better energy future. You will see first-hand how we value urgency, rigor, ownership, and hard truths, knowing it will take each to do what no one has before. Joining us, you will push the boundaries of what's possible and transform humanity for the better - because the world can't wait.

What You'll Be Doing:

As the Talent Acquisition Manager at Helion, you’ll lead full-cycle recruiting while managing and developing a team of recruiters and sourcers. You’ll partner with hiring managers and company leaders to implement scalable, efficient hiring strategies and ensure an excellent candidate and hiring team experience. You’ll be hands-on in both execution and team enablement, helping build a high-performing recruiting function that delivers top talent to Helion. This role is based onsite at our Everett, WA office and reports to the Director of Talent & People Operations.

You Will:

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of recruiters and sourcers supporting hiring across all pipelines
  • Partner with senior leaders across the company to understand talent needs and execute recruiting plans that deliver against hiring goals and drive towards company milestones
  • Ensure every stage - from sourcing to offer - reflects Helion’s values of speed, rigor, and excellence, while delivering an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience
  • Track key recruiting metrics, identify trends, and drive process improvements with a focus on quality, efficiency, and inclusivity
  • Audit, refine, and evolve recruiting practices to stay ahead of industry trends and build the best possible teams to deliver on Helion’s mission
  • Embed D&I best practices into sourcing, interviewing, and hiring to ensure diverse, high-impact teams across the company
  • Partner closely with Talent Operations to optimize recruiting technology, leverage AI tools, and scale systems that make hiring faster and smarter

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in recruiting, with a focus on both technical and non-technical hiring
  • 3+ years of management experience leading and building high-performing recruiting teams
  • Proven success hiring at scale across technical, manufacturing, and business functions in close partnership with senior leadership
  • Strong experience developing and executing recruiting strategies to source, engage, and close passive talent in highly competitive markets
  • Deep understanding of recruiting data and metrics to drive hiring strategies, optimize processes, and measure team success
  • Hands-on experience partnering with cross-functional partners to build systems, programs, and workflows that improve efficiency, candidate experience, and hiring outcomes
  • Expertise embedding diversity and inclusion practices into sourcing, interviewing, and hiring strategies
  • Tech-forward mindset - excited about leveraging recruiting technology and AI tools to move faster and smarter
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-growth environment, with a flexible and solutions-oriented approach

Total Compensation and Benefits

Helion's compensation package includes a competitively benchmarked base salary, meaningful equity grants, and comprehensive benefits. Final compensation is determined through a holistic evaluation of your experience, qualifications, and our commitment to internal equity - ensuring fairness and transparency across our teams. We are committed to fostering a fair and equitable environment in every aspect of our operations, including compensation.

This is an exempt salaried role.

Annual Base Pay$165,000—$185,000 USD

Benefits

Our total compensation package includes benefits, including but not limited to:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision plans for employees and their families
  • 31 Days of PTO (21 vacation days and 10 sick days)
  • 10 Paid holidays, plus company-wide winter break
  • Up to 5% employer 401(k) match
  • Short term disability, long term disability, and life insurance
  • Paid parental leave and support (up to 16 weeks)
