Job summary

Capstone Copper Pinto Valley is seeking a Tailings & Water Engineer to support the safe and efficient operation of water systems and the Tailings Storage Facility (TSF). You will partner with operations to optimize water use, ensure proper TSF construction, and manage tailings within Capstone’s Tailings Management System.

You will apply knowledge of water system design, TSF stability, and regulatory requirements, while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with internal inspections and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering as required.
• Knowledge of water systems, TSF design, and monitoring.
• Familiarity with safety standards (MSHA) and site policies.
• Experience in tailings or water-related projects is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support safe operation of water systems and TSF under Capstone’s system.
• Collaborate with operations to optimize water use and TSF stability.
• Prepare plans for water removal and tailings deposition.
• Develop QA/QC, risk plans, and response triggers.
• Assist with KPI tracking, budgeting, and reporting.
