Job summary

Discovery Land Company’s Homewood Mountain & Lake Club on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe seeks a Snow Cat Operator to groom slopes and restore trails after closing, ensuring prime corduroy and safe, smooth surfaces for guests.

You will perform pre- and post-operation inspections, monitor equipment, and collaborate with the maintenance team, with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced mountain environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience operating snowcats or tractors preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge to identify malfunctions and safety concerns.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and safety guidelines.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate snowcat grooming equipment to maintain smooth, consistent surfaces.
• Perform thorough pre-operation and post-operation inspections of snowcats and related equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify potential mechanical problems.
• Communicate with Vehicle Maintenance Team about equipment condition and service needs.
• Follow grooming patterns and procedures to achieve desired snow conditions and trail quality.
• Operate grooming equipment in accordance with resort procedures and safety policies.
• Adhere to all company and site safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
