Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking an intern to join the Tactical System Prototyping and Deployment group in Laurel, MD. You will help build software for warfighter capabilities, collaborating with a team to transform concepts into operational solutions that leverage sensors, data sources, and visualization for defense missions.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Completed coursework in software development, including OOP, data structures, signal processing, data visualization, or UI.
  • Eligible for Interim Secret clearance by start date and eventual Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Implement proof-of-concept software across GUI, signal/video processing, pattern recognition, and real-time computing.
  • Contribute to concepts addressing critical military operational needs and data display for sensors and networks.
  • Support prototype evaluation and experiments at military facilities as schedules allow.
