Hybrid This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to the Cole Engineering Center Tower in Warren, MI, at least three times per week, or as dictated by business needs.
The role involves working cross-functionally with Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Containerization, Logistics, and GM assembly/manufacturing plants to address critical supply issues and manage business transfers. This team handles short-term capacity challenges caused by broken tools or equipment, fires, floods, and other supplier shortages.
Supporting or leading conference calls related to business transfers and critical supply issues.
Acting as a liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and suppliers to resolve issues and provide technical support.
Identifying causes of supplier delivery problems and coordinating effective, timely resolutions.
Assisting in the development and implementation of corrective actions for critical issues.
Improving supplier delivery performance by identifying process improvements and lead time reduction opportunities.
Participating as a member or resource in product development teams, as needed.
Exchanging information regularly with internal teams and external facilities, including GM and suppliers.
Collaborating with the Supplier Risk Management team on financially troubled suppliers.
Providing frequent updates to management based on issue urgency.
Providing executive reports as required.
