Job summary

BVG & Company is seeking an experienced Communication Specialist to support the NEST Communication Program. The role focuses on managing radio, satellite, and data networks to ensure command and control during radiological emergencies and nuclear incident responses.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of technical, operational, and tactical experience in emergency response environments, with readiness to travel up to 20% and to operate in austere settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of equivalent military training or federal law enforcement experience
• Minimum of six years of hands-on experience supporting tactical and field network operations (radio, SATCOM, secure data networks)
• Experience deploying and operating tactical SATCOM terminals to establish data connectivity
• Ability to travel up to 20% annually for training and rapid-response deployments

Responsibilities

• Support and manage tactical and strategic radio, satellite, and data networks for command and control during radiological emergencies and nuclear incident responses
• Deploy, align, and operate tactical SATCOM terminals to establish connectivity in degraded networks
• Plan, brief, and execute communications plans across unclassified and classified IT data systems and radio systems
