Job summary

BVG & Company is seeking an experienced Communication Specialist to support the NEST Communication Program. The role focuses on managing radio, SATCOM, and data networks to maintain command and control during radiological emergencies and nuclear incident responses.

The ideal candidate has a strong blend of technical, operational, and tactical experience in emergency response environments, with 6+ years in field network operations and willingness to global deploy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5 years equivalent military or federal law enforcement experience.
• 6+ years hands-on experience supporting tactical and field network operations.
• Experience deploying SATCOM terminals and secure data networks in austere environments.
• Willingness to deploy globally and travel up to 20%.
• Experience with COMSEC equipment and cryptographic key material handling.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, align, and operate tactical SATCOM terminals to establish data connectivity.
• Support and manage tactical and strategic radio and data networks during emergencies.
• Plan, brief, and execute communications plans for real-world events and NSSEs.
• Maintain deployable readiness of mobile comms kits and cryptographic materials.
• Travel up to 20% annually for training, standby operations, and rapid deployments.
