Title

Title: TACOM (SIAD): Production Control Clerk (Contingency) Belong, Connect, Grow, with KBR!

Program Summary

The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) sustains the Army’s mission to develop, acquire, field, and sustain ground combat, tactical, and support systems throughout their lifecycle. The program focuses on ensuring operational readiness, reliability, and safety of automotive and ground support equipment critical to Army operations. Under this contract, personnel provide maintenance, repair, overhaul, and sustainment support in accordance with Army technical manuals, safety standards, and performance requirements.

Job Summary

The Production Control Clerk provides administrative and technical support for maintenance and production control operations that underlie mission-critical TACOM activities. The role is responsible for tracking, documenting, and coordinating maintenance actions, workload schedules, and material requirements to ensure timely and efficient completion of maintenance operations. This position is contingent upon award.

Roles and Responsibilities

Helps develop cost estimates at the request of depot customers. Coordinates and assists with pre-production and pre-planning meetings. Assists in developing production schedules, keeps production schedules updated. Monitors program funding to include costs incurred and funds remaining. Reports any discrepancies in funding, schedules, or quality up to the higher-level production controller or the Logistics Management Specialist. Creates, maintains, and/or changes production routes, and bills of materials for the depot operating system with assistance from the higher-level GS 09 production controller. Send out notifications to other depot organizations informing them when a maintenance program order is ready to be opened or closed. Works within the organization at the work center level to reconcile data, correct any cost issues, clear up any outstanding service charges, and ensure all labor hours are charged correctly prior to the program manager closing out a maintenance program. Assist higher level production controllers with estimates of man-hours and materials required for accomplishing the program by operation. Attend lower level production meetings and reports back any issues or taskers to the higher level production controller or Logistics Management Specialist. Assist higher level production controllers in determining if production is being accomplished according to schedule and meeting quality requirements by gathering completion data, by assisting costs centers and journeyman level specialist in identifying production issues such as manpower, available materials, etc. Helps determine causes such as improper layout, inadequate quality control procedures/processes, tooling, parts shortages or errors in man-hour standards. Assists higher level production controllers by gathering information to assist them in recommending parts/components for reclamation based on cost and/or usage. Assists higher level production controllers to determine if the cost of fabrication of parts is economical and does not exceed the estimated cost of material. Gathers technical manuals or other publications to assist higher level specialists with drafts prior to final publication on new or unusual programs to be accomplished at this installation and assist higher level specialist with their recommended changes and/or revisions based on facts and information obtained by actual operations. Assists higher level production controllers in developing measures to correct problematic areas identified in audit reports. Assists higher level production controllers coordinate planning activities with Senior Specialists in Production Planning and Control functions, shop foreman, engineers, supply specialists and production controllers programming the integrated activities within the shop. Assist with maintaining liaison duties with other depot segments in coordinating the related activities required in accomplishing the assigned function. Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point. Typically 2-4 years of experience in production control, maintenance administration, logistics, or a related field. Experience working with maintenance management systems, databases, or automated tracking tools. Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical instructions, manuals, and regulatory guidance. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance personnel and supervisors. Ability to perform work in physically demanding environments. Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (as required). U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience supporting DoD, Army, or TACOM programs. Prior government contracting experience.

Salary & Compensation

The salary range for this position is $41,100 - $61,600. Compensation offered will depend on qualifications, experience, work location, and business considerations. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. Additional compensation and benefits may be available based on role eligibility.

Additional Information

This position will be performed in office, maintenance facilities, depots, and field environments that require a combination of desk-based project work and hands‑on operations. There is potential exposure to machinery, tools, fuels, oils, and outdoor conditions. Employees may also be required to work shifts, overtime, or weekend support based on mission needs.
