Job summary

KBR in the United States is seeking a Front Line Supervisor (Contingency) to lead maintenance, sustainment and logistics teams in TACOM-managed systems. The role ensures safe, efficient work and compliance with Army standards and contract requirements under a contingent award.

The supervisor coordinates schedules, allocates resources, and drives quality and productivity in line with KBR policies and mission readiness goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of experience in logistics management or related field.
• Experience supervising DoD, Army, or TACOM programs preferred.
• Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Government security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Program Summary

The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) sustains the Army's mission to develop, acquire, field, and sustain ground combat, tactical, and support systems throughout their lifecycle. The program focuses on ensuring operational readiness, reliability, and safety of automotive and ground support equipment critical to Army operations. Under this contract, supervisory personnel provide first-line leadership and operational oversight for maintenance and sustainment teams, ensuring work is performed in accordance with Army Technical Manuals (TMs), safety standards, quality requirements, and contractual performance metrics.

Job Summary

The Front Line Supervisor serves as the first-level supervisor responsible for leading assigned personnel performing maintenance, sustainment, logistics, and related operational tasks in support of TACOM-managed systems. The supervisor ensures daily work is executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with Army standards, contract requirements, and KBR policies. This role plays a critical part in mission readiness by coordinating work execution, monitoring workforce performance, and ensuring quality and productivity objectives are met. This position is contingent upon award.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Plans weekly and monthly work schedules and sequences of operations for subordinates.
• Establishes deadlines and priorities based on general work schedules, methods, and policies established by higher levels of supervision.
• Determines how many assignments can be done concurrently, which ones must be delayed, and the number and types of employees needed, considering skills, personnel, materials, and equipment available and required.
• Coordinates work with related work functions controlled by other supervisors.
• Informs higher level supervisors of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources.
• Participates in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work.
• Selects workers and assigns tasks to be performed.
• Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures; instructs subordinates in new procedures; and provides advice when problems arise.
• Reviews work in progress or upon completion.
• Investigates work-related problems, (e.g. low productivity, etc) to identify causes; implements those corrective actions that can be taken within the limits of the incumbent's authority.
• Adjusts plans, assignments, and methods as necessary to accomplish the work as effectively and economically as feasible.
• Determines equipment, supplies, and maintenance required.
• Assures that material is ordered and delivered to work sites so as not to delay work.
• Coordinates work of unit with other units or organizations that may be involved.
• Develops performance standards, counsels' employees on performance, and makes formal and informal performance appraisals.
• Reviews job descriptions for currency and accuracy, making necessary changes; reports detailing employees on jobs other than their own.
• Interviews candidates for vacancies and recommends selections.
• Counsels' employees on problems and adjusts informal complaints through discussions with employees and union representatives.
• Initiates proposals for formal disciplinary actions as needed.
• Identifies employees' training needs, and initiates recommendations to provide necessary training.
• Schedules and approves leave of subordinates.
• Promotes the participation of employees in such programs as the suggestion program and cost reduction.
• Maintains production records and reports.
• Assures that equal opportunity programs are implemented and operational sufficient to accomplish equal employment opportunity goals in accordance with DA and local policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Logistics Management experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis, where 4 additional years of Logistics Management experience may be substituted for a formal college degree. Supervisor should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the logistics field. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically attends Government Program Meetings and reports to a Corporate Director or Official. Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (as required) U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience supervising personnel on DoD, Army, or TACOM programs. Experience supporting automotive, tactical, or sustainment maintenance operations. Familiarity with Army maintenance documentation, Technical Manuals, and readiness reporting. Experience supporting audits, inspections, or quality assurance processes. Prior government contracting experience.

Additional Information

This position will be a part of a physical work environment that requires standing, walking, and lifting. There is potential exposure to machinery, tools, fuels, oils, and outdoor conditions. Employees may also be required to work shifts, overtime, or weekend support based on mission needs.
