Job summary

Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Full Time Pit Manager to supervise the pit area during shifts and ensure accurate game operations and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Provide next-level guest service to internal and external guests and uphold Cedar Crossing culture.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, internal controls, and regulations.
  • Open/close tables, verify chip inventory, float balances, and accurate documentation.
  • Monitor fills, credits, and marker transactions per controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Enforce table game rules and resolve disputes between guests and dealers.
  • Collaborate with Surveillance and Security on suspicious activity.
  • Provide on-the-job training for Dealers and ensure adequate guidance.
  • Maintain staffing levels and table spreads based on demand.
  • Comply with AML policies by monitoring activity and reporting unusual transactions.
  • Complete reports and projects assigned by the Casino Shift Manager.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides direct supervision of the assigned pit area of the table games operations, during their assigned shift. Monitors and enforces all policies and procedures as outlined in department and company manuals, as well as in accordance with Internal Controls Policies and Procedures and state regulations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended as an overview of key responsibilities of the work for this position and are not all inclusive:



  • Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests. Demonstrates the Cedar Crossing culture in all interactions with guests and co-workers.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established procedures with company policy and state regulations.

  • Ensures compliance with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations.

  • Ensures proper table opening and closing procedures are followed, including verification of chip inventory, float balances, and documentation accuracy.

  • Monitors and verifies accuracy of fills, credits, and marker transactions in accordance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

  • Enforces all table game rules and resolves disputes between guests and dealers in a fair, consistent, and professional manner.

  • Partners with Surveillance and Security to report, document, and follow up on suspicious activity, variances, or potential gaming violations.

  • Maintains knowledge of all current table game rules, side bets, and promotions to ensure accurate execution and guest communication.

  • Conducts performance feedback and coaching conversations with Dealers to improve game protection, accuracy, and guest service.

  • Ensures proper staffing levels and table spreads are maintained based on business demand and operational efficiency.

  • Ensures compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies and procedures by monitoring gaming activity for suspicious behavior, accurately documenting and reporting unusual transactions, and escalating concerns in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.

  • Completes all reports and projects assigned by the Casino Shift Manager.

  • Assumes overall responsibility for the effective gaming service activities for a designated area or pit.

  • Reports shift activity daily and coordinates with other shifts, including customer activity and play, game drop and any unusual activity.

  • Assists in monitoring table payouts to ensure proper amounts are being paid to guests.

  • Maintain constant awareness of activities of all games in assigned locations to observe and act appropriately in the event of any suspicious or irregular activity.

  • Maintains game security and always protect company assets.

  • Controls and directs games in progress by monitoring and providing assistance and dealer correction.

  • Maintain awareness of how each game stands with respect to player limits, special guests, gains/losses, and dealer performance.

  • Provide and monitor on-the-job training for Dealers to ensure staff receives adequate guidance, resources, and information for adequate job performance.

  • Adheres to scheduling and coordinates with manager regarding any concerns with attention to guest satisfaction.

  • Assists with guest inquiries while monitoring and applying service recovery within authorized levels.

  • Responsible for making sure all paperwork is completed and reported in accordance with established compliance procedures.

  • Always follows the Company Service Standards model.

  • Assists in developing department standards, guidelines, and objectives.

  • Assists in other administrative processes such as staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of assigned areas.

  • Responsible for creating and fostering an environment of support and motivation for Team Members.

  • Addresses any situations that may arise among department employees.

  • Reviews the work activities of subordinate employees to ensure that work is being performed within the standards established by management.

  • Resolves problems that are within the position’s scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.

  • Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of two (2) experience in a comparable table games position or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Experience in table games operations and thorough knowledge of all casino games. Working knowledge of Excel and Word required.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:



  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.

  • Obtain and maintain required license(s).

  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.

  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.

  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department.

  • Have knowledge of property programs to address problem gambling.

  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls.

  • Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.

  • Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member of which they have knowledge.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Must have ability to:



  • Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently.

  • Lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.

  • Work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels, may be exposed to secondhand smoke and varied light levels, including flashing lights.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend for entire shift.
