Job summary

Tucson Electric Power seeks a skilled supervisor to plan, organize, and direct the overall operation of the T&D area in accordance with policies and regulations. You will lead a team, hire, motivate, recognize and reward, coach, counsel, train and solve problems, providing quality customer service.

The role requires strong communication, budgeting, cost-awareness, and project management with knowledge of electric utility services and standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
• High level of interpersonal skills for sensitive situations.
• Poise, tact and diplomacy.
• Broad business knowledge including financial analysis and project management; thorough knowledge of electric utilities and related codes and permitting.
• Proficient in PC apps: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Maximo and/or other Work Management Systems and MS Project are plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and leads the assigned work group, including safety, scheduling, performance reviews, and employee relations.
• Addresses disciplinary and performance issues with HR and communicates corrective actions.
• Provides feedback during progress reviews and resolves technical questions; optimizes workflow to minimize overtime and complaints.
• Reviews operations to identify process improvements.
• Suggests methods to improve efficiency and service to customers.
• Assists with budget input and cost variance analysis.
