POSITION OVERVIEW:

The TCI Specialist Mechanic performs the teardown of in-house engine types, propellers, and aircraft components to their lowest unit part numbers in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals, IPCs, and the direction of the TCI Manager. This position cleans and performs cursory inspections of removed materials to support the inspection and inventory induction process while adhering to company quality and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform disassembly of units using applicable maintenance manuals, specialized tooling, hand tools, and approved processes.
  • Read, interpret, and follow technical information and guidance contained in maintenance manuals.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and TCI shop procedures.
  • Follow established shop practices to ensure materials are handled properly and prevent damage.
  • Tag and identify all materials and/or racks to prevent cross-contamination of parts between work orders and serial numbers throughout the TCI process.
  • Schedule work to ensure materials are processed and placed into stock in a timely manner.
  • Maintain Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control and a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Follow tool control protocols and ensure tools are available, maintained, and in safe operating condition.
  • Teach and mentor fellow TCI mechanics in the skills required to perform their duties.
  • Interpret technical data and apply inspection process requirements in the performance of assigned work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Certifications and/or licenses:
  • Heavy mechanical and/or technical background preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of aircraft, engine, automotive repair, or related industry experience required.
  • Basic inspection experience and knowledge of FAA regulations preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply aircraft technical manuals, drawings, and prints.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License preferred but not required.

Skills/Software/Tools:

  • Proficient in the use of hand tools with a strong understanding of mechanical components and their operation.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., AVSIGHT) and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Skilled in the use of precision measuring equipment, including micrometers and digital microscopes.
  • Experience using abrasive cleaning products, shop equipment, and related machinery.

The employee may occasionally work near forklifts or other material-handling equipment.
