Job summary

JOB OVERVIEW

A Technician maintains, inspects, disassembles, rebuilds, and troubleshoots the CFM56-5/-7 engines of aircraft to meet FAA standards. They will often work in hangars, repair stations, and on airfields. The position is full‑time on an eight‑hour schedule with occasional overtime and weekend work. Technicians should have strong mechanical abilities and knowledge, be incredibly detail‑oriented, and thorough. A Technician should be skilled at working with complex information and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing Maintenance – Mechanic will carry out maintenance updates on different components and accessories of engines, such as but not restricted to inspection, disassembly, reassembly, and troubleshooting.
  • Running Tests – Will run regular maintenance tests and checks to ensure that all components are working to full capacity and that the engine is safe to operate.
  • Installing Replacement Parts - Constantly perform regular installations of replacement parts in the CFM56-5/-7 engines which are faulty or damaged.
  • Creating Inventories of Supplies - Must keep inventory of the stock, supplies and tools in possession. As well as a materials and equipment logs used for replenishment for future tasks and projects. Mechanics will also maintain repair logs, reports, and documentation of what has been fixed or replaced.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft jet engines and related components in accordance to technical specifications provided by Engineering Dept.
  • Perform routine maintenance, overhauls, and part replacements according to manufacturer and regulatory standards.
  • Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to identify faults and determine corrective actions.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in compliance with aviation regulations.
  • Follow strict safety procedures and coordinate with engineering and flight crews to maintain airworthiness.

Qualifications: (Required)

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have basic mechanical skills and ability to read and interpret technical data to perform maintenance activities on aircraft jet engines (CFM56-5/-7 Models).
  • Must be fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S
  • Pass pre‑employment drug testing per FAA/DOT regulations. NOTE: This position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Qualifications: (Preferred)

  • Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) FAA certification
  • +1 years of previous engine maintenance experience in the aerospace field on turbine engines; CFM56-5/-7 preferred.
  • Flexibility to travel both domestic and international.
  • Candidate should be goal‑oriented, detailed, and must work well in team environments and as an individual.
  • Well‑organized with basic computer skills.

Job Demands:

Work is performed in a Shop environment and requires the ability to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb to reach materials, and work in a noisy environment.
