Job summary

Warren Cat in Oklahoma City is seeking an Engine Field Technician I to provide high-quality repair service on equipment, ensuring value for work performed and timely response to customer needs.

You will complete jobs within flat-rate times, manage related paperwork, remove/install parts, perform engine repairs, weld, and verify operation of all repairs, with documentation and safety in mind.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 years related experience.
• Proficient with basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools, laptops and diagnostic software.
• CAT product knowledge across gas, diesel, electrical and mechanical components; familiarity with order processing systems.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
• Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, clean and inspect assemblies with minimal supervision.
• Timely parts and core returns with appropriate documentation.
• Perform warranty downloads of ECM.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical engine repairs and adjustments.
• Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
• Apply general failure analysis and procedures to determine proper diagnosis.
• Perform engine and component rebuild with limited supervision.
• Accurate and timely service reports and timecards daily.

Education

The Engine Field Technician I is responsible for providing high quality repair service on equipment, in order to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring and timely manner and to ensure maximum value for work performed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Complete assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Proficient use of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.
• Specific CAT product knowledge of gas, diesel, electrical, electronic, and mechanical and components.
• Knowledge of database software, internet software, manufacturing software and order processing systems.
• Ability to provide accurate quotes.
• Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.
• Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work, required overtime and on-call.
