Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a system-wide pharmacy leadership role to guide the enterprise's financial performance, supply chain strategy, revenue cycle optimization, and 340B program management across multiple locations in Massachusetts.

You will partner with pharmacy, clinical, finance, and executive teams to align strategies, forecast budgets, and measure performance while driving cost stewardship and improved patient access to medications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
• Massachusetts’s Pharmacist License.
• Five (5) years of hospital pharmacy leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads the strategic oversight and optimization of the system 340B program, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements while maximizing program value.
• Partners with system and entity leadership to develop and execute strategic and financial plans, including annual budgets and multi-year forecasts.
• Identifies and evaluates new business opportunities and service lines that expand pharmacy capabilities, improve patient access, and contribute to system growth.
• Directs cross-functional initiatives that span multiple pharmacy business lines or sites of care, including high-priority system projects related to growth, efficiency, compliance, and innovation.
• Manages financial and operational metrics and systems to manage and optimize the financial performance of Pharmacy Services.
• Leads enterprise pharmacy business analytics, leveraging data to inform strategic decision-making, measure performance, and identify emerging opportunities related to drug spend, reimbursement, utilization, and growth.
• Ensures optimization of pharmacy revenue cycle processes, including charging, billing, reimbursement strategy, and charge master maintenance.
• Identifies opportunities to optimize medication spend, reimbursement, contracting performance, and operational efficiency while supporting organizational goals related to quality, access, and financial stewardship.
• Partners with clinical and operational leaders to identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities for medication-related cost savings, revenue optimization, and margin improvement across all sites of care.
• Partners with pharmacy, finance, compliance, and clinical leadership to identify and implement opportunities to expand 340B savings, enhance contract pharmacy performance, and align program strategy with system goals related to medication access, cost stewardship, and margin improvement across all sites of care.
• Oversees pharmacy supply chain strategy within Pharmacy Services, including procurement, contracting, inventory optimization, and vendor management, ensuring alignment with system financial and operational goals.
• Takes ownership for the contract management for pharmacy business lines including yet not limited to contract compliance reviews and other data analytics.
• Supports pharmacy governance structures and clinical decision-making processes through data analytics, financial modeling, operational assessments, and implementation planning.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and payer requirements across pharmacy operations.
• Promotes the adoption of best practices, innovation, and emerging models of care that enhance quality, service, and financial performance
• Directly supervises key leaders of Pharmacy Services including yet not limited to directors and/or managers.
• Leads, mentors, and develops pharmacy leaders, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Establishes individual performance goals and objectives, and completes reviews, at least annually, on assigned pharmacy leaders.
• Leads/Participates in recruitment and hiring of pharmacy personnel.
• Provides human resource management of direct reporting positions.
• Participates in educational programs, as an attendee or lecturer, to bring knowledge to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care and service.
• Initiates, develops, implements, and maintains policy and procedures in other areas as assigned.
