Job summary

Boston Medical Center seeks a Director of Pharmacy to lead the Pharmacy Department, ensuring high-quality patient care through regulatory compliance, budgeting, clinical services, and policy development. The role requires strategic planning and collaboration across hospital systems.

The position calls for a PharmD or Ph.D. with extensive supervisory experience in a Pharmacy Department, including residency program leadership and MA licensure.

Qualifications

• PharmD or Ph.D. required with supervisory experience.
• Five years of supervisory experience in a Pharmacy Department.
• 2–3 years as Assistant Director in a Pharmacy Department with a residency program (PGY2) in Pharmacy Administration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of Pharmacy Department including planning, budgeting, reporting, and policy development.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and JCAHO/DEA etc.
• Lead service line enhancements and provider collaboration.
• Hire, train, promote, and develop staff; manage performance.
• Lead strategic planning and fiscal control for departments.
• Serve as Substances Registrant and subject matter expert for pharmacy portions of the system.
