Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a hands-on Technician to perform hydro tests, calibrations, and quality checks on ProMinent skid systems in a Pittsburgh facility. You will ensure system integrity, accurate drawings, and synchronized scheduling with production and engineering teams.

The role requires measuring and machining accuracy, manual dexterity with hand tools, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. A forklift certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • One year of manufacturing work experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Hydro tests and calibration of ProMinent skid systems; ensure leak-free piping.
  • Verify pumps and equipment operate as specified; ensure drawings are correct.
  • Coordinate test department schedule with Production/Engineering.
  • Identify and report drawing discrepancies to supervisors and engineers.
  • Conduct functional testing, pump calibrations, and pressure tests.
  • Maintain quality records, test forms, and time logs.
  • Label and tag systems; manage spare parts with orders.
  • Maintain department tools and adhere to safety procedures.
  • Perform quick, minor repairs as needed and report failed parts.
  • Stay organized, meet deadlines, and support team and clients.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for hydro tests and calibration of ProMinent Systems (skids) to ensure that there are no leaks in the piping and that the calibration capacity meets the Engineering requirements.
  • Ensure all pumps and equipment work as specified and ensure that the drawings are correct.
  • Ensure that the Test Department’s job schedule is in-sync with the Production/Engineering departments’ scheduling requirements.
  • Bring inaccuracies with drawings and shop paperwork to the attention of the Test Supervisor and appropriate Engineering staff.
  • Functional testing of systems, pump calibrations, and pressure testing.
  • Maintain appropriate quality control records, test forms and time logs.
  • Labeling/tagging of systems.
  • Confirm that the pulled parts with the order’s Bills of Materials.
  • Store the order’s spare parts in the Test Department and ensure they are shipped with the skid(s).
  • Maintain Department tools appropriately.
  • Always follow safety procedures.
  • Perform quick, minor repairs on skids as agreed.
  • Report failed parts to QC for NCMR processing.
  • Adhere to Company policies and procedures.
  • Punctual attendance.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and organized manner.
  • Accomplish goals, meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Support Client, Company and Team.
  • Maintain company confidentiality.
  • Other duties as required to attain company goals.
Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to analyze mechanical and electro/mechanical system failures and to work with schematic drawings
  • Must be able to obtain upon request in-house forklift and vehicle certifications
  • Position requires constant physical movement (standing, bending, kneeling, stretching) in order to handle all functions of position
