Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform functional analysis, scheduling analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation/verification, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into test requirements and test plans.
• Conduct system integration, installation, test, operation, maintenance, and disposal activities.
• Develop test system architecture, write test plans and procedures, and execute testing in accordance with these plans.
• Communicate test results and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Maintain the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deadlines.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Systems Test Engineer Level 2 / 3 for the development and ongoing support of new and existing designs used in surface ship and submarine propulsion and power generation systems for the US Navy. The position is full‑time, onsite at Sunnyvale, CA, and may involve up to 30% travel for technical reviews, test planning, and test conduct.

Relocation assistance may be available. A Secret clearance is required. The role will support current and future system testing for launcher programs, maintain the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and execute testing in accordance with established plans and procedures.

• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience creating test plans and procedures for mechanical systems.
  • Experience participating in test meetings and writing test reports.
  • Experience with requirement verification.

Salary & Benefits

Primary Level salary range: $91,800 – $137,600. Secondary Level salary range: $114,000 – $171,000. Compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives for leadership roles.
