Job description

Position Overview

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems invites a Systems Integration / Principal Systems Integration Engineer to join our Test & Evaluation organization, located in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The role focuses on synthesizing customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions while respecting technical, schedule, and cost constraints. The candidate will perform duties across electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or software domains. Full‑time, on‑site work is required; remote and hybrid arrangements are not available. Up to 10% travel may be needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in development, execution, peer review, and release of test procedures
  • Participate in Formal and Non‑Formal Test execution events
  • Engage in test planning, discrepancy reporting, validation testing, and post‑test data analysis
  • Provide support of required laboratory test artifacts
  • Effectively communicate test results and project updates
  • Support multiple shifts and odd hours to accommodate testing efforts and lab schedules
Basic Qualifications

For Level 2: Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience, OR Master’s degree and 0 years of related professional/military experience.

For Level 3: Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience, OR Master’s degree and 3 years of related professional/military experience, OR Ph.D. and 1 year of related professional/military experience.

  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance (background investigation within the past 6 years or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time
  • Experience writing Python scripts
  • Experience with System Test, software development, and/or Systems Engineering
  • Experience with Windows/Linux operating systems & Virtual Machines (VMs)
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile development methodology
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • Knowledge of system test and integration
  • Experience calibrating and inspecting special test equipment
  • Experience creating, updating, and executing test procedures
  • Security+ certification
  • Experience with IBM Rational tools (DOORS and ClearQuest)
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Git, Confluence)
  • Experience with software test automation tools/frameworks
  • Experience with Java, C++, or Python
Salary

Primary Level: $91,800.00 – $137,600.00

Secondary Level: $114,000.00 – $171,000.00
