Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is seeking a Software Development Engineer to research, design, develop, and test operating systems–level software and related tools for semiconductor operations. The role focuses on software for processors, GPUs, and system software, with emphasis on optimization and cross-platform compatibility.

Responsibilities include design and debugging of complex software, collaboration across teams, and ensuring hardware-software integration. Travel is not required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in Python, C, or C++ as core programming languages.
  • Familiarity with CUDA and Git for development workflows.
  • Strong understanding of OS kernel and systems development; Linux/Windows internals.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test operating systems–level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software.
  • Develop software and tools to support design, infra, and technology platforms.
  • Determine hardware compatibility and influence hardware design; troubleshoot and debug programs.
