Job summary

Interstates is hiring a Systems Project Manager to lead client-facing delivery for limited-energy and technology systems across multiple projects. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, review contracts, and ensure cost control, safety, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.

The ideal candidate will translate complex technical requirements into actionable execution plans, manage project risks, and mentor junior staff while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, electrical engineering, engineering technology, business, information technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership, engineering, estimating, and operations teams to establish project direction, priorities, and delivery strategies.
• Lead the execution of limited-energy systems projects, including structured cabling, communications, security, access control, fire alarm, audiovisual, building automation, and related systems.
• Develop and maintain project execution plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk-management strategies.
• Monitor labor, material, subcontract, and equipment costs to stay aligned with budgets.
• Provide project and site leadership with data, budgets, bid information, and technical coordination.
• Coordinate design development, submittals, RFIs, procurement, material delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, and closeout.
• Select materials, vendors, and subcontractors while managing purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, general contractors, trade partners, vendors, authorities, and internal teams.
• Identify and resolve scope gaps, design conflicts, constructability concerns, extra work, productivity issues, schedule impacts, and safety risks.
• Schedule and lead progress meetings with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Update project schedules regularly with site leaders and stakeholders.
• Prepare materials for monthly reviews including P&L, schedule, risk, quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
• Identify, price, negotiate, document, and manage change orders promptly.
• Maintain consistent client communication on budget, quality, safety, schedule, and system performance.
