Job summary

Interstates is seeking an experienced Systems Project Manager to lead client-facing delivery of limited-energy and technology systems. You will coordinate project execution from contract review through closeout, ensuring cost control, safety, quality, client satisfaction, schedule, and profitability.

The ideal candidate is strategic, collaborative, and adept at translating technical requirements into actionable execution plans. Travel and relocation may be required across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering limited-energy, low-voltage, technology, electrical, automation, or related construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of project contracts, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, change management, and cost control.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership, engineering, estimating, and operations teams to establish project direction, priorities, and delivery strategies.
• Lead the execution of limited-energy systems projects, including structured cabling, communications, security, access control, fire alarm, audiovisual, building automation, and related systems.
• Develop and maintain project execution plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk-management strategies.
• Monitor labor, material, subcontract, and equipment costs, as well as productivity, to maintain alignment with project budgets.
• Provide project and site leadership with the data, budgets, bid information, and technical coordination needed for successful execution.
• Coordinate design development, submittals, RFIs, procurement, material delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, and closeout.
• Recommend and select materials, vendors, and subcontractors while managing purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, general contractors, trade partners, vendors, authorities having jurisdiction, and internal teams.
• Identify and resolve scope gaps, design conflicts, constructability concerns, extra work, productivity issues, schedule impacts, and safety risks.
• Schedule and lead progress meetings with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Update and review project schedules regularly with project/site leaders, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare materials for monthly project reviews, including profit and loss, schedule, planning, risk, quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
• Identify, price, negotiate, document, and manage change orders promptly.
• Maintain consistent client communication and ensure expectations for budget, quality, safety, schedule, and system performance are met.
