Job summary

Garden City Community College (GCCC) seeks a Programmer and Systems Administrator to manage and secure its Windows and Linux servers, support daily IT operations, and automate tasks with PowerShell, Bash, and other scripting languages. Responsibilities include provisioning accounts, API integration, and maintaining Ellucian Portal/Colleague and related systems.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of related system administration experience.
• Associates degree in IT, Computer Science or related field is preferred; CCNA/CCNP, A+, Network+, Security+ are a plus.
• Significant interpersonal skills, trust and diplomacy are required; ability to influence others.
• Six months to two years of experience in systems administration and/or programming.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-user support via scripting languages to automate tasks.
• Develop end-to-end support for hosted applications, including API integration, database management, and server maintenance.
• Manage Windows services such as DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory user/group policies.
• Maintain Windows Server and SQL Server databases for Ellucian Portal, Ellucian Colleague, and GCCC Website.
• Maintain Windows Active Directory and OneLogin SSO for provisioning and 2-Factor Authentication.
• Troubleshoot remotely using diagnostic techniques; determine best solution based on user details.
• Install, upgrade, and maintain components and software; manage physical and virtual servers.
• Schedule upgrades/maintenance to avoid end-user impact.
• Assist IT staff with help desk tickets and tasks as needed.
• Lead special projects from the Executive Information Officer on cloud, network, security, and Ellucian Colleague implementations.
