Sammons Financial Group is seeking a skilled IT Systems Operator to monitor and maintain both mainframe and open-system platforms. You will respond to console messages, load peripherals, and ensure security and privacy of customer data, with weekend support as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional computer coursework or equivalent job experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of computers and operating systems.
• Attention to detail and ability to respond quickly to issues.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system performance and respond to console messages per directions from system software, apps, or operator notes.
• Maintain and operate computer systems including mainframe and open-system platforms using job monitoring software.
• Load peripheral equipment and deliver output to appropriate teams.
• Notify on-call support personnel in case of stoppage.
• Perform preventative maintenance on hardware and software and call for repairs as needed.
