Sammons Financial Group Companies is seeking a role focused on monitoring and maintaining computer systems across mainframe and open-system platforms. You will operate hardware, manage output, and escalate issues to on-call staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional computer coursework or equivalent job experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of computers and operating systems.
• Attention to detail and ability to respond quickly to issues; ability to work with little or no assistance and make decisions.
• Demonstrated corporate accountability, openness, integrity and respect with internal and external customers.
• Ability to complete simple projects within established timeframe.
• Ability to communicate with internal employees in all offices and remote locations.
• Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 45 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate computer systems including mainframe and open-system platforms.
• Operate computer hardware to process business data per operating instructions.
• Load peripheral equipment and deliver output to teams.
• Notify on-call support in case of stoppage.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot hardware/software.
• Create tickets in incident management system when problems occur.
• Ensure security and privacy of systems and data.
• Available for occasional scheduled weekend support.
• Commit to company values and attendance policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Take corrective action when called for or seek assistance from System Programmers, Operations Analysts or other on-call personnel when causes of problems are not apparent. Monitor job schedule deadlines and alert necessary personnel to any major schedule changes that occur. Print and deliver policies, reports, and other output to appropriate service areas.

What You'll Do In This Role

• Responsible for maintenance and operation of computer systems including both mainframe and open-system platforms utilizing job monitoring software.
• Operate computer hardware systems to process business data according to operating instructions and documented standards.
• Load peripheral equipment with selected materials, such as tapes and printer paper for operating runs. Deliver output to appropriate teams or work areas.
• Notify proper on-call support personnel in the event of a stoppage.
• Perform preventative maintenance on hardware and software according to published instructions, troubleshoot malfunctions and call for repairs as needed.
• Create tickets in incident management system when problems occur.
• Ensure security and privacy of systems, data, and printed output of customers.
• Available for occasional scheduled weekend support.

Salary Range Information

USD $32,512.00 - USD $54,186.00 /Yr. Range includes data points from multiple labor markets. Specific range is dependent on the labor market where the incumbent will be hired to perform the position. Starting salary is dependent on candidate qualifications and experience. For a narrower salary range specific to your labor market, please inquire.
