Job summary

Purpose Financial in Greenville, SC, is seeking a Systems Operations Specialist to keep our national production systems running and support field operations. This hands-on role reports to the Sr.

Manager of Technical Operations and offers an on-site, fast-paced environment. You will implement monitoring, maintain hardware/software, and contribute to process improvements across production systems, POS, and enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• AA or AS in an IT-related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in IT with hands-on ops support.
• Experience across Windows, Linux, Unix environments.
• Batch files, shell scripting, SQL, or PERL experience.
• Experience with application servers, web servers, databases, schedulers.
• Ability to develop relationships and communicate across teams.
• Understanding of policies and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1/2 support for field ops and service desk.
• Manage hardware provisioning, imaging, and POS certs.
• Support patching, security updates, and vulnerability remediation.
• Maintain deployment tools (Intune, PDQ) and OS images.
• Develop and maintain operational docs and runbooks.
• Assist in SDLC-compliant deployments and migrations.
• Participate in on-call rotations and cross-training.

In this role, you'll report to the Sr. Manager of Technical Operations and serve as a critical hands‑on contributor—keeping our systems, applications, and environments running reliably so our business never skips a beat. What You'll Do

• Obsess Over Customers by providing responsive, high-quality support for Field Operations and the Service Desk—ensuring hardware, software, and point-of-sale systems are configured, deployed, and running so our branches can serve customers without interruption

What You'll Do (Day‑To‑Day)

Systems Support & Hardware Operations

• Windows 10 LTSB hardware replacement support, including vendor and hardware/software selection, configuration, testing, and imaging of new hardware and peripherals
• Manage, configure, and provision Branch hardware peripherals including printers, scanners, card readers, tablets, and signature pads—ensuring compliance with software and firmware update requirements
• Provide CVE, Windows security patch, hotfix, and vulnerability remediation support for new Branch hardware and software—administering deployment tools such as Intune, PDQ, and others
• Installation, testing, and certification of POS software(s), including remote technician support and POS operations certification
• Manage the delivery of batch processes and services supporting live production systems, including reports, data extracts, and file movements
• Manage environments by maintaining and deploying applications, application servers, databases, and software in coordination with each environment's designated owner
• Manage application migrations and deployments as part of SDLC‑compliant environments across development, quality assurance, user certification, and production release stages

Monitoring & Documentation

• Develop and maintain 24x7 monitoring of systems and processes to support Tier 1/2 on‑call coverage as part of a rotating schedule
• Develop and maintain operational documentation including standards, procedures, process diagrams, process inventory, and support references

Enterprise POS & Scripting

• Provision new business locations within enterprise point-of-sale systems
• Support and maintain enterprise POS systems including workstation imaging, deployments, configuration, advanced scripting, and Oracle/SQL DB querying

Process Improvement

• Continuously analyze and improve production processes with the goal of making them better, faster, and more stable while reducing maintenance requirements

What You'll Bring

• AA or AS in an IT-related field, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience within the IT field or equivalent undergraduate education
• Operating system experience across Windows, Linux, and Unix environments
• Experience with Windows/DOS batch files, shell scripting, SQL, and/or PERL
• Experience with application servers, web servers, databases, and schedulers
• General working knowledge of technical systems, quality standards, security concerns, production environments, and systems monitoring
• Experience in the manipulation and movement of data and files
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain business relationships across all levels
• Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing our industry and products
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to design, build, monitor, and troubleshoot production processes, software, systems, and environments
• Self‑starter mentality with the ability to assume a high level of responsibility and operate with minimal supervision
• Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a dynamic, high‑volume, fast‑paced environment
• Preference given to candidates from a technical background looking to strengthen and expand their expertise
