Job summary

Barwon Health seeks a Systems Officer to oversee ICT infrastructure, delivering admin, support and improvements across virtualization, cloud, storage and enterprise apps. You will collaborate with teams and vendors to provide reliable IT services and drive modernization initiatives.

The role focuses on stability, security and performance of business-critical systems, with on-call support and a pro-rata 5 weeks annual leave benefit. Applications encouraged from a diverse workforce.

Qualifications

• Experience with VMware/server virtualization, Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (ideally Dell VxRail), SAN storage, and backup/recovery solutions.
• Strong experience managing business-critical IT environments, including Citrix (VDA, VDI, StoreFront, NetScaler), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, MECM and hardware/software.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including cloud migration, administration and optimisation.
• Strong skills in enterprise infrastructure management, troubleshooting and service continuity.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain server, hardware, software and hyper-converged infrastructure, ensuring reliable performance and availability.
• Manage and support Active Directory, Group Policy, MECM/SCCM, Citrix VDI and associated enterprise systems.
• Support high availability, security, capacity management and infrastructure optimisation, including upgrades and service improvements.
• Resolve complex technical issues, participate in on-call support, maintain documentation and deliver services in line with SLAs, KPIs, policies and stakeholder requirements.

About the role

The Systems Officer will be responsible for the administration, support, and continual improvement of the organisation’s ICT infrastructure. This role requires strong technical expertise across virtualization, cloud, storage, and enterprise applications, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of business-critical systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams and vendors to deliver reliable IT services and drive modernisation initiatives.
