Job Summary

Reporting to the Digital Systems Operations Manager your role will sit within the Digital Systems Support Team. The Digital System Administrator role is a key position within Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, responsible for ensuring critical clinical and operational IT systems are secure, reliable, and effective. The post holder will provide second-line technical and application support, manage system performance and user access, work closely with suppliers and clinical teams, support testing and system upgrades, deliver training and contribute to the continuous improvement of digital healthcare systems. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem‑solving skills, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage incidents, data quality and system documentation while supporting patient care through robust digital services.

What You Will Bring To The Role


  • Proven experience administering IT/clinical systems, including support, maintenance, troubleshooting and user management

  • Experience investigating, diagnosing, and resolving complex incidents, faults, data issues and technical problems

  • Experience working with NHS clinical information systems, patient‑based systems and electronic patient records

  • Ability to work effectively with suppliers, third parties, clinicians, managers, consultants and technical teams

  • Experience developing test scripts, conducting system testing, supporting upgrades/releases and implementing new procedures

  • Knowledge of security, role‑based access controls, confidentiality, Data Protection requirements and NHS governance standards

  • Experience producing and maintaining SOPs, system documentation, guidance, logs, change records and user procedures

  • Ability to train staff, provide guidance to users, deliver system training and support adoption of digital systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information to both technical and non‑technical audiences

  • Understanding of IT service management principles (ITIL), incident management, problem management, system resilience and service continuity
