Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Huntsville, AL is seeking Modeling and Simulation Engineers to support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program on the SPIDER team. You will contribute to high-fidelity modeling and simulation products used in the design of military capability for the Missile Defense Agency, collaborating across experienced teams.

The role requires a Secret clearance to start, with travel up to 10% and potential for bonus as part of the compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of relevant professional experience or a Masters degree in a STEM discipline with 1 year of experience
• Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of relevant professional experience or a Masters degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of experience
• Demonstrated software development experience in languages or tools such as C, C++, MATLAB, JAVA, ADA, Python, or GIT
• Experience or a strong comprehension of Object Oriented Programming and design (such as SOLID design principles)
• Experience or a strong comprehension of modeling and simulation concepts, including validating, verifying, and benchmarking models against tactical systems
• Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate within/across teams
• Ability to work effectively using team processes, workflows, and coding standards.
• Current, active, in-scope U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time in support of program or customer needs

Responsibilities

• Developing, maturing, and debugging the highest fidelity model of the GWS Fire Control tactical software
• Code translation and software design/data structure work between languages
• Debug and tune the model to represent tactical behavior, including awareness of concurrency/multithreaded systems
• Data analytics and root cause analysis
• Cython experience to generate C/C++ code from Python
