University of Utah Health Hospitals and Clinics in Salt Lake City is seeking a Facilities Mechanic with a focus on maintaining and repairing equipment in the HVAC/R arena. You will perform routine and preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, and implement corrective actions to keep systems running reliably.

This full-time, day-shift role (Mon-Fri, 7:00 am–3:30 pm) requires lifting up to 100 pounds, adherence to safety regulations, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Three years of maintenance and repair experience in HVAC, piping, electrical, or related areas.
  • Two-year vocational schooling if refrigeration/AC position.
  • EPA Universal permit for refrigeration/AC work.
  • May require valid State of Utah Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, repair, overhaul, service, and maintain equipment in the area of expertise.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Design and implement mechanical or electrical alterations to improve efficiency and life of equipment.
  • Ensure equipment meets regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Maintain clean equipment rooms and repair records.
  • May lead other personnel and set priorities.
  • Complete required after-hours on-call rotation.
