Job summary

University of Utah Health seeks a junior level maintenance technician responsible for routine and preventive maintenance and for analyzing mechanical and electrical problems to ensure continuous and safe operation of equipment in the healthcare environment. This role works under the guidance of a Maintenance Engineer II or higher and does not provide direct patient care.

Qualifications

• 18+ months hands-on maintenance/repair experience in HVACR, piping, electrical, or related systems.
• Valid Utah driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operates, repairs, overhauls, services, and maintains equipment across health care environments.
• Performs preventive maintenance per manufacturers’ recommendations or codes.
• Enters data into CMMS and maintains equipment records.
• Maintains clean equipment rooms and AHU filter changes.
• Completes fire extinguisher inspections and after-hours on-call rotation.
• Assists in mechanical/electrical modifications to improve efficiency.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
