Job Description Summary / TWC Summary
Under general supervision, responsible for the functionalmanagement of the Integrated Library Management System ( OCLCWorldShare Management Services) and coordinates the use andintegration of electronic research resources and technology infaculty teaching and research and in library collections andservices. Oversees library operations and services during weekendand evening hours.
Essential Duties Summary
- Manages the library’s integrated library management system,including installment of software upgrades, etc.
- Serves as the first point of contact for issues related to theoperation and implementation of the integrated library managementsystem.
- Participates in IT projects pertinent to the skills andinterests of the Systems Librarian.
- Maintains an awareness of current trends and developments inlibrary automation and information technologies.
- Assumes primary responsibility for all library services duringthe evening and weekends, including the coordination andsupervision of circulation, reserve, collection management andphotocopy services. Ensures compliance with university and librarypolicies and procedures.
- Provides general legal reference and research services tostudents, faculty, and public library patrons, with particularemphasis on electronic resources. Performs on-line databasesearches.
- Manages the development and teaching of computer-assisted legalresearch instructional programs. Provides electronic currentawareness service for faculty.
- Participates in the process to review, evaluate, and selectelectronic resources for library collection development.
- Assists in the development and updating of the content of thelaw library Web pages.
- Serves as library liaison with database vendors. Acts asliaison to faculty regarding electronic research projects.
- Recommends policies and procedures and coordinates userservices with other library departments.
- Prepares user aids such as bibliographies, user guides,research and instructional-based pathfinders, exhibits,newsletters, and blogs on the library to assist patrons using thelibrary. Develops documentation and guides for electronicresources.
- Assists in training and supervising student workers for thedepartment.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education
Required: MLS, MLIS, or MSIS degree
