Job summary

Benchmark in Minnesota (Rochester) seeks an experienced assembler to prepare systems level assemblies. You will unpack, set up, assemble subassemblies, verify kits, document batch data, and label accessories according to instructions.

The role involves using routings, performing hand solder and inspection operations, and assisting with prototype builds under supervision. Safety-sensitive position with potential overtime.

Responsibilities

• Accesses the appropriate paperwork and necessary drawings for each job assignment.
• Verifies kits, enters Batch lot information, package and label accessory items according to documented instructions.
• Uses appropriate mats and all required tooling.
• Checks equipment (torque wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.) to ensure proper performance.
• Uses manufacturing routings and process instructions under close supervision.
• May assemble a variety of systems integration subassemblies.
• Notifies leadership of any shut down situations.
• Enters data into Process Feedback System (PFS) and link subassemblies to final unit.
• Enters quantities into Operations Complete (Baan) when required.
• All employees are responsible for the Quality of their work to ensure BEI meets, or exceeds Customer Satisfaction.
• Mentor and assist lesser qualified operators.
• Build subassemblies and add labels per manufacturing instructions and schematic drawings.
• Perform systems integration specific hand solder and inspection operations per documented instructions.
• Perform F-cert function to ensure final units have passed through all necessary operations.
• Perform final inspection of unit to ensure there are no visible defects or finger prints and wipe down unit as needed.
• Add user manuals, accessory packs, cables, labels, etc. per documented instructions.
• May assist manufacturing engineering in basic prototype and pre-production builds.
• Use manufacturing routings and process instructions under moderate supervision.
• Mentor other co-workers in assembly activities.
