Position Overview

Our client is seeking a hands-on Systems & Infrastructure Specialist to support, maintain, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure across multiple client environments. This individual will be responsible for Linux systems administration, Proxmox virtualization, networking, and general infrastructure support.The ideal candidate is a technically versatile engineer who enjoys solving problems, working directly with infrastructure, and supporting a variety of technologies in a fast-paced managed services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers and operating systems.
• Deploy, manage, and support Proxmox VE virtualization environments, including virtual machines, storage, and backups.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability; identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
• Support networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Perform server installations, upgrades, patching, and ongoing systems maintenance.
• Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, virtualization, and network-related issues.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure security practices.
• Assist with infrastructure deployments, migrations, and system improvements.
• Provide technical support across multiple client environments and document configurations and resolutions.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams to resolve escalated issues and improve infrastructure performance.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Linux-based systems.
• Practical experience with Proxmox VE virtualization.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and VPNs.
• Experience supporting servers, storage, backups, and general IT infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across operating systems, virtualization, and network environments.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical priorities.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working for an MSP or supporting multiple client environments.
• Experience with Proxmox clustering, high availability, live migration, and shared storage.
• Familiarity with Windows Server and mixed Windows/Linux environments.
• Experience with Bash scripting or infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery tools.
• Experience supporting hospitality, hotel, or other multi-location businesses.

Ideal Candidate Profile

A hands-on Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer with a strong Linux foundation, practical Proxmox experience, and the ability to support networking and broader infrastructure needs. Someone comfortable working across multiple client environments who can take ownership of technical issues from troubleshooting through resolution.
